As per tradition, on Saturday, December 31, 2022, Arena Foundation will celebrate the arrival of the New Year with a special event that has always been highly anticipated by the public.
Scheduled for this year is an extraordinary evening of the new production at Verona's Teatro Filarmonico: the New Year's Eve La Bohème Gala, with young Verona conductor Andrea Battistoni on the podium of Fondazione Arena's Orchestra.
In Stefano Trespidi's staging with scenes by Guillermo Nova, costumes by Silvia Bonetti and light design by Paolo Mazzon, the youth revolution of the French May 1968 represents the libertarian spirit of youth; the great cinema of Bertolucci and Garrel is referenced in the Paris teeming with real life reconstructed on the stage of the theatre, in the context of a dramaturgy always faithful to Puccini's dictate.
An outstanding gala evening on Saturday, Dec. 31, with curtain-raising at 7 p.m. and finale scheduled for 10 p.m.
